About EquineSolar

Dave’s journey began as a young lad working for a local farmer, enjoying the outdoors with duties such as milking, driving tractors, and handling various farm tasks. He later transitioned into engineering, working in the tool room at Plesseys in Swindon.

In his mid-twenties, Dave purchased a derelict farm building in Purton, Wiltshire, which he transformed into a workshop for classic car restoration and an accident repair shop, employing a small team.

In his mid-fifties, Dave closed the body shop and developed a small industrial complex that continues to serve the local trade. Dave’s passion for innovation and problem-solving led to the creation of EquineSolar.

Having experienced firsthand the difficulties that remote equine facilities face in accessing power, he used his engineering expertise to develop an all-in-one solar power solution tailored to the equestrian community.

Dave is a perfectionist, with a keen eye for detail. His hobbies reflect his adventurous spirit, from competing as a sidecar passenger in the Isle of Man TT races in his youth to kayaking, cycling, and traveling in his motorhome—Scotland being his favorite destination.

Dave also serves as a groom and helper for his wife’s horse at events, which inspired him to create a hay steamer to help manage his horse’s asthma. Each solar kit is crafted with care by Dave himself, ensuring the highest quality and reliability. Built to withstand the rigors of equestrian environments, these solar kits provide power for stables, lights, and even essential equipment like kettles and horse clippers.
